In 2008, New York based professional photographer Linda Smith traveled to Kigali, Rwanda, where she ran a photography workshop - providing cameras and skills to a group of 10 orphans at the Kagugu School. The children, all victims of either Rwanda's terrible genocide or HIV, were able to use their new found skills as a form of self-expression to communicate how they saw the world around them. The results were stunning. The Muskoka Foundation is very proud to have partnered with Through The Eyes of Hope Project, to spread the children's wonderful work through printed calendars, Gallery showings, and a 6-page spread in the Overland Journal. In all over $2,000 was raised, with 100% of the proceeds going back to Kigali.
